Meet the Team

Lawrence wilmott director / chief executive officer / head of operations

Lawrence completed his Bachelor of Aviation with Swinburne University in 2013, before going on to gain extensive experience as a Flight Instructor teaching airline cadets. Lawrence worked as a Check and Training Captain on Metroliners for an Australian regional airline, building the experience required to hold Flight Examiner approvals to conduct ATPL, Flight Instructor, IFR and MEA Flight Tests. In addition to managing Aerosphere, Lawrence currently works for one of Australia’s major airlines flying the Boeing 787.

As the Chief Executive Officer and Head of Operations, Lawrence works with Quality Manager Adrian Catimel, guiding the business on a daily basis. Whether it be communicating directly with CASA, company instructors, clients or students, Lawrence has a strong passion to make sure the training environment at Aerosphere is of an extremely high standard.

Adrian’s aviation career began as a flight instructor in Melbourne, teaching both local and international students from ab-initio through to Multi-IFR flight training. He is fortunate to have gained initial experience in passenger carrying operations on both the Metroliner and Boeing 717. Adrian currently flies the Boeing 787 for a major Australian airline. 

With additional expertise in CASA key-personnel roles in both Safety and Quality Assurance, as well as experience in the rail sector with Yarra Trams, Adrian combines both his passion for teaching with his experience in Australian commercial aviation to help deliver Aerosphere’s industry leading simulator training.

  • Matt is an experienced flight instructor with a passion for teaching and sharing real-world aviation knowledge.

    With a background as a training captain on Metroliner’s for a regional airline, Matt gained invaluable multi-crew experience before transitioning to his current role flying the Airbus A320/A321 on both domestic and international routes for a major Australian airline.

    Matt brings his extensive operational experience into the classroom, enhancing ATPL and MCC training programs by offering practical insights and real-world application. His commitment to fostering a deep understanding of aviation helps students develop the skills necessary to succeed in their aviation journey.

  • Harry has almost a decade of multi crew experience across multiple airlines in Australia and overseas. Harry has operated both Boeing and Airbus aircraft in short and long haul operations, and currently operates the A320/1 for an Australian airline. He has previously flown the B747 as an international freight pilot, and the B717 and CRJ in passenger operations.  

    Before working as an airline pilot, Harry worked as a Flight Instructor. He combines his teaching background with his airline experience to deliver quality material to students looking to improve their skillset through the MCC course, or upgrading their licence to an ATPL.

  • Zain commenced his aviation career with a major Australian airline in a non-piloting role before making the change, training as a Flight Instructor at Moorabbin Airport. Gaining experience, Zain had a large involvement in Airline Cadet Training as Grade 1 Multi IFR.

    Currently a First Officer flying the Airbus A320, Zain flys for a major Australian airline based out of Melbourne.

    Zain has an immense passion for the best possible training outcomes combined with real world airline experience. He loves being able to assist every one of his students during their aviation journey on the Aerosphere MCC program.

  • Michael brings an extensive level of Multi Crew experience to Aerosphere, having commenced regional airline flying in 2012. Operating Metroliners and Jetstream 32s in Australia and Sub Saharan Africa before returning home for command training on the Metroliner.

    Currently working for a major Australian airline, Michael commenced on the Airbus A320 in 2018. He has operated extensively, internationally on the Boeing 787. He is now a Captain on the A320.

    Michael brings practical experience and a calm demeanour to the simulator. He enjoys the opportunity to pass on his own experience to the coming generation of both Australian and the wider world’s future airline pilots.

  • Michael’s passion for aviation started at the age of 14 when he first learned to fly. After completing his training in Melbourne, he worked as a flight instructor and spent three rewarding years teaching students of all ages, including airline cadets, university students, and hobby pilots. Michael specialised in multi-engine IFR training and loved helping students achieve their flying goals.

    Later moving into the airline world, Michael flew Metroliners for a regional airline in Australia. Michael enjoyed the opportunity working as a training captain further refining his instructing techniques in a multi crew environment.

    Currently, Michael is a first officer for a major Australian airline on the Boeing 737 based out of Melbourne.

    With his experience in both instruction and real-world airline operations, he aims to make the training experience as relaxed and enjoyable as possible. He enjoys sharing practical knowledge from his time on the 737, helping each student work towards their career goal.

  • Brady is a Perth based, Boeing 787 pilot with a diverse background in regional, charter, survey, and ferry flying. A Grade 1 Flight Instructor, he has a passion for mentoring and training the next generation of pilots. He’s also the founder of Aviation Theory Services, which helps pilots prepare for their ATPLs and airline careers. When he’s not flying internationally, you’ll find him in the air with his own aircraft, exploring general aviation and flight testing homebuilt aircraft.

  • Edan brings a varied level of experience to Aerosphere, from instructing, charter work and airline flying. Edan’s passion for flying began from an early age, seeing him complete his training in Melbourne in 2014. Following this Edan enjoyed a wide range of experience from flying for agricultural operators to instructing overseas airline cadets, before gaining valuable multi crew experience on Dash-8’s in a dynamic environment as part of work contracted to the Australian government. Following this Edan gained several years of airline experience and is currently flying internationally on the 787.

    Combining his love of flying and passion for teaching, Edan brings his real-world experience to the simulator delivered in a pragmatic and open environment. He fosters a positive training space while still encouraging students to have fun and enjoy the learning journey.

  • Zac has an experienced background in training. He began his professional career in aviation as a Flight Instructor at Moorabbin Airport where he worked for 3 years and became a Grade 1 IFR instructor. Zac went on to work for a regional airline as a Training Captain and has many years of real world training experience in the multi-crew environment. Currently Zac is a First Officer flying for a major Australian airline based out of Melbourne.

    With a passion and focus for the best possible training outcomes combined with real-world airline experience and calm and relaxed approach, Zac ensures that the total training experience is enjoyable with the aim of sharing real world practical experiences and knowledge into the training environment. 

  • With over 50 years in aviation, Scott loves having the opportunity to mentor the next generation of pilots.

    Scott commenced his career in general aviation completing both single and multi engine charters. After building enough experience, he commenced a 35 year career with one of Australia’s major airlines. With experience operating the B747 Classic, B747 400 and B737, Scott brings an incredible amount of experience and stories to the Aerosphere MCC program.

    Outside of his airline career, Scott has managed his own company, Kitching Aviation. From running airline interview preparation, fear of flying courses, MCC and even Aerial Advertising, Scott is able to give his students an expanded perspective on aviation during their time with Aerosphere.

    Scott is always happy to provide advice to his students and loves being able to take part in their aviation journey.

  • Pete has a decade of multi crew experience across multiple airlines in Australia and in the United States. Pete has extensive experience operating domestic and international services in both passenger and freight operations. Peter has flown the Embraer 175/195, Boeing 767 and currently flies the Airbus A330 for a major Australian carrier. 

    Prior to working in the Airlines, Peter built his experience working in charter operations and as Grade 1 Multi IFR Flight Instructor for numerous airline academies and flight schools throughout Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Peter has a great understanding of Multi Crew Operations and also has a passion for teaching. His natural exuberance and wealth of knowledge always helps his students reach their highest standards. Pete is always happy to provide advice and act as a mentor for students aspiring to get the most out of their Aviation careers. 

  • Peter has spent over 30 years in the Aviation industry and brings an extensive amount of multi crew experience to Aerosphere. Having first worked in Australia for a major Australian airline Peter later moved overseas to join Hong Kong’s largest carrier flying the 747-400 and later the Airbus. With his extensive simulator and aircraft training background he is well placed to deliver high quality MCC training. 

    Currently flying the E 190 throughout Western Australia Peter remains highly involved in the aviation industry. As a mentor, Peter has assisted many younger pilots throughout their aviation journey.

  • Mike has enjoyed a fortunate and extensive career spanning most facets of the aviation industry. Mike’s career has at various times included instructing, charter, “Reg 203” (the precursor to Supplementary Airline operations), and an extensive airline career with a major Australian carrier, culminating in command of the A380. During that time, Mike has held various positions, including instrument training and testing approvals and a Chief Pilot approval for a commuter/charter operator. He was fortunate to command the B767, B747-400 and the A380. Mike flew the B747 “classic” as a First and Second Officer. Mike holds a Master's in Aviation Management, participated in global standards development, including CPDLC, the EFB, Jeppessen chart design, and others. During his airline career, Mike delivered CRM recurrent training and was part of the Flight Operations Audit team, where threat and error management was the foundation of the team's activities.

    Mike believes his position with Aerosphere provides him an opportunity to “pay it forward’ and return energy to the industry that gave him so much over a career spanning 54 years.
